Our Dental Practice Is Now Open to Safely Treat Your Dental Emergency

Posted .

During these challenging times, companies across the globe are having to adjust to the ever-changing conditions arising from the COVID-19 pandemic, and dental practices are certainly no exception.

Rest assured, the Palm Desert Center for Advanced Periodontics, Cosmetic, Sedation and Implant Dentistry led by Dr. Kalashini Miller and her team of specialists in Palm Desert, California, are following the guidelines of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and the American Dental Association (ADA). We are taking all the necessary measures and precautions, including effective daily cleaning, wearing protective equipment (PPE) for safety and limiting elective treatments.

Open for Emergency Procedures

We are here in the office for any of your emergency dental needs. We are not only willing to see you and provide you with the best dental care for you or a loved one’s dental emergency, but we want you to come in and seek treatment should something like this arise. Please don’t stay at home if you have a true dental emergency! Our doors are open to making sure that your dental needs are not neglected during these challenging times.

What is a Dental Emergency?

Please call our office if you experience bleeding, pain, swelling, sudden sensitivity to sweets or hot or cold drinks or a tooth fracture, displacement or a knocked-out tooth. If you have a bitten tongue or lip and the bite is large or bleeding heavily and won’t stop, you want to be seen immediately.

Swelling around your jawline or under your mouth with problems breathing or swallowing may indicate Ludwig’s Angina — a bacterial infection that occurs in the floor of the mouth or under the tongue, often after a tooth abscess.

Broken damaged teeth need to be taken care of, as well as broken dental restorations like dentures, bridges, and tooth implants that can affect their function and your way of life (eating, speaking, chewing, etc.)

Don’t Wait!

When it comes to your oral health, addressing problems right away is also the least invasively and least costly to treat. Left untreated, dental issues can quickly cause additional problems and harm your health. This is particularly true with gum disease. Treated early, gingivitis is actually reversible. Once it has progressed too far, the supportive gum tissue can pull away from a tooth so that it loosens and requires extraction. Saving teeth is our top priority. Note: at this time, treating gum recession is considered an elective treatment.

While we cannot currently whiten your teeth or treat receding gums, we want you to know that your oral health is of utmost importance to us, and we are ready and equipped to give you the highest quality treatment and do so comfortably and safely. We strive to take the worry out of your dental treatment, so you can sit back, relax, and know you are in expert hands. Your dental care is our top priority!
